Be Well Piles Treatment Process

Step - 1
Patient Evaluation
Patients undergo a thorough medical examination to assess the severity, type, and extent of the hemorrhoids. The healthcare provider reviews the patient’s medical history and may conduct diagnostic tests.
Step - 2
Preoperative Preparation
ESWL is usually performed with the patient under sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the case and the preference of the healthcare team. The patient is positioned on a treatment table, and the kidney stone’s location is identified using imaging techniques.
Step - 3
Anaesthesia Administration
Hemorrhoidectomy is typically performed under general anaesthesia to ensure the patient is comfortable and unaware during the procedure.
Step - 4
Surgical Intervention
The surgeon performs the chosen surgical procedure, which may involve techniques such as hemorrhoidectomy, rubber band ligation, or other approaches based on the case.
Step - 5
Postoperative Monitoring
Patients are monitored in a recovery area as they wake from anesthesia. Pain management medications may be administered. Instructions regarding postoperative care, hygiene, and medications are provided.
Step - 6
Post-Surgery Care and Follow-Up
Patients receive postoperative care instructions, including pain management and hygiene. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor recovery and address any concerns.

Know More About Piles

What are Piles?
Piles (Haemorrhoids) are lumps inside and around the anal region. Swollen and inflamed veins in the rectum and anus cause discomfort and bleeding. Hemorrhoids are usually caused by straining during bowel movements, obesity, or pregnancy.
Piles are classified as internal and external based on the severity of the ailment.
  • External hemorrhoids, which form under the skin around your anus
  • Internal hemorrhoids, which form in the lining of your anus and lower rectum
Grade I (First Degree)
Hemorrhoids that bleed but do not prolapse (protrude) and are usually internal. They may cause itching or discomfort.
Grade II (Second Degree)
Prolapse and retract during a bowel movement. They may bleed and cause discomfort but usually return to their normal position afterward.
Grade III (Third Degree)
Prolapse during a bowel movement and require manual pushing back into the anal canal. They may cause bleeding, discomfort, and may be more noticeable.
Grade IV (Fourth Degree)
Prolapsed hemorrhoids that cannot be pushed back in and may contain blood clots. These can be painful and may cause other complications.
Banding
The doctor wraps an elastic band around the pile’s base to cut off its blood supply. Hemorrhoid comes out after a few days. This is useful for treating any hemorrhoids with a grade of less than IV.
Sclerotherapy
A medicine is injected into a hemorrhoid to cause it to shrink. Hemorrhoid ultimately dies. This is an alternative to banding and is helpful for grade II and III hemorrhoids.
Infrared coagulation
A device is used to burn the hemorrhoid tissue, also known as infrared light coagulation. This method is used to treat hemorrhoids of grades I and II.
Hemorrhoidectomy
Surgical removal of the extra tissue that is causing the bleeding. This may be accomplished in a variety of methods, including a combination of a local anesthetic and sedation, a spinal anesthetic, or a general anesthetic. This kind of surgery is the most successful for fully eliminating piles.
Hemorrhoid stapling
Blood supply to the hemorrhoid tissue is stopped. This is a less painful treatment.

After undergoing piles surgery, it's important to follow specific guidelines to ensure proper healing and minimize complications.

Do’s
  • Keep the anal area clean and dry. Use water after bowel movements and pat dry.
  • Drink plenty of water to prevent constipation and strain during bowel movements
  • Consume high-fibre foods for regular bowel movements.
  • Follow your surgeon’s advice regarding when it’s safe to resume normal activities, including work and exercise
Don’ts
  • Refrain from straining during bowel movements to prevent stress on the surgical site.
  • Avoid prolonged sitting, as it can put pressure on the surgical area. Take breaks and walk around periodically.
  • Steer clear of heavy lifting or strenuous activities that can strain the surgical site.
  • Avoid spicy and irritating foods that may cause discomfort during digestion.
  • Monitor for complications like infection and excessive bleeding. Address unusual symptoms promptly; contact your healthcare professional.
